Across the South, kudzu can be seen climbing tree lines, covering hillsides, stretching along rural roads, and reclaiming places time has left behind. Over time, it became one of the most recognizable features of the Mississippi and Southern landscape.

Kudzu was introduced at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia and was initially admired as an ornamental plant.
